TOPS join the Ghostly fold
TOPS — musicians David Carriere, Jane Penny, Marta Cikojevic, and Riley Fleck — write timeless music that reliably threads immediacy and depth. Emerging from Montréal’s DIY scene in the early 2010s as progenitors of an indie pop sound still radiating its influence across the contemporary landscape, their secret to longevity is simple: keep the songwriting honest and open-hearted and the recording unforced yet pristine, allowing for a band dynamic deeply attuned at every level. Their glowing, grooving, self-produced songs outline the silhouettes of life, and as time goes on, TOPS have only gotten better at what they do.
Streaming now after its live debut at Coachella, “ICU2” is pure flirtation, a classic uptempo TOPS song sprung from a playful exchange between Jane Penny and Marta Cikojevic. Beneath the grooves, though, the hide-and-seek club scene hints at a hall of mirrors. It arrives alongside a throwback music video; enter the world of the crate and see what magic unfolds.
Ghostly x Eric Hu
5 years on from our Astro Boy collection, we teamed up again earlier this year with the renowned Eric Hu on a new capsule featuring his unique flair for color and type, printed by LQQK in Brooklyn. After selling through, the tees are back in stock. Some sizes remain for the long-sleeves, and we also have a sharp Nalgene to share.
Com Watch
Over the last decade-plus, Com Truise has defined his unmistakable style of melodic beat music through constant iteration. With Seth Haley recently sharing new transmissions at his Instagram, and as Persuasion System turns six, we’ve added the mini-LP to our sale section alongside other in-stock Com Truise classics: In Decay, Too, Iteration, and In Decay.

Ghostly Swim 2 turns 10
Ghostly Swim 2 (Apple Music / Spotify) turns 10 this month. Released in 2015, on the heels of soundtracking Playstation’s Hohokum and venturing into collabs with Warby Parker and others, Ghostly’s second compilation with [adult swim] moved further inward (spiritually) and outward (beyond our roster) to reflect the electronic underground of its time from textured ambient zone-outs to woozy, granular house and techno. It can be seen now as an entry point for future Ghostly signings like Galcher Lustwerk and Mary Lattimore, and a showcase for breakthrough talents like AceMo and CFCF.
Ghostly artists on tour
Kate Bollinger's European tour starts next week. Ginger Root’s road dominance continues in August. Julie Byrne is playing select shows in DC, Brooklyn, and Boston later this month. Check our site for the full run-down.
